Chris at Spartan Race 2014 Toronto

Christopher was born in the small town of Dunnville, Ontario, Canada. At the age of 3, Christopher’s parents decided to move back home to Georgian Bay, Ontario, where his father, Bernard Trudeau, grew up.

Growing up on Moon Island, surrounded by beautiful Georgian Bay, Christopher and his family experienced the calm that only results from such welcome and peaceful isolation living in a home only accessible by water. Christopher grew up fishing and swimming regularly.

Christopher’s education began in MacTier, a small, near-abandoned railroad town. Every season living on an island provided a new challenge. While most kids were sleeping, Christopher and his brother, Kenneth, were up at 6 am getting ready to take the school boat or snowmobile to catch the school bus at the marina. The winter transitional seasons required a more unusual mode of transportation, usually by scoot, which is a flat-bottom fibreglass boat with a small airplane engine on the back.

From a young age, Christopher’s natural artistic talent revealed itself, for he would often draw detailed stick figures of friends in class riding acme rockets, which eventually became fully-developed comics with accompanying plot-lines. The comical drawings developed over the years and eventually, in 2013, Christopher decided to pursue art and graphic design as a full time career. Specializing in animal portraits, Christopher decided to market this talent through PetSketch.ca. Working from existing photographs, Christopher began drawing pet portraits for friends and family. Using non-traditional charcoal techniques, he is proficient at creating realistic drawings from photographs or other visual exemplars. His artwork is mainly black and white with hints of colour from tinted charcoal.
